Apology accepted...
The design is a basic good one (5/8 over a 5/8) used by Larsen and Hustler
and others (the NMO450 antenna is one such..so is the Hustler G6-144...and
with the correct bottom length (the same as the top), it WOULD offer 5+db
gain over a 1/4wave vertical..and it's still easy to build....For those
wanting to have some extra gain on FM, that would be an easy one to
construct and have fun with (I would highly recommend 3-4 1/4wl or longer
radials.)
Wonderful hobby ain't it??..when you can BUILD the stuff you use in
it....few other hobbies are like this (rocketry, RC planes, etc maybe...and
they usually have a ham radio connection at times; been in them before...and
they are also fun :)
