  I'd still try to get her to agree to using a right-angle bracket and a Larsen NMO-50. and
to mount it on the edge of the trunk. If no holes absolutely whatsoever, then a NMO-50 with
a NMO-MM (magnetic mount), but that's not the best at all. I ran one for a long time and 
finally decided to drill a hole to mount a 5' whip like a highway patrol car. I can now work
my 6m repeater from further distances and even work one 70 miles away on 20w.  
(Of course the 2nd repeater is on a much better, taller tower than mine, lol.)
