I don't think it matters if the glass is tinted. I have heard that some glass does not work however. Depends on materials used in the glass.

Subject: [50mhz] dumb question!

Gentlemen:
I have a dumb question! Before that, I want to address the current thread. Re: Polarization:
I believe in horizontal polarization for six meters because I am using two M Squared HO
Loops stacked at 10.5 feet separation and they give me an optimum takeoff angle and I
am working an adequate amount of DX considering I only run 100 watts, I tried vertical
and it inc reased my ambient noise level to where I couldn't hear weak signals. Also,
when I used a vertical antenna, my neighbor complained that I raised hell with his
stereo. Now, that is all gone. Oh well, I tried with my two cents worth.
Now, the dumb question. Has anyone ever tried a "Through Glass" antenna on their mobile
where the windows are tinted?? Does a tinted wndow somehow interfere with the operation
of this type of antenna? This is for two meters, not six, to be used in my mobile. I just got
a new car and the wife says, NO HOLES!! (Gad, these wives don't understand, do they?)
Thanks for your comments. Hate to bother you nice folks with such mundane stuff, but
aooreciate any help or suggestions.
