Hello!
Now that Es season is over, there should be no propagation conflicts anymore, and
most people will hopefully be available to work some real DX! This is just a
reminder and a request to look for 3D2LR from moonrise September 27 to October 8 GMT.
The planned EME operating schedule and intended EME frequency and sequence - as
well as future updates - are shown here:
http://www.bigskyspaces.com/w7gj/Fiji2010.htm
As you can see from the planned operating schedule shown, there is a lot of
middle-of-the-night operating scheduled from 3D2 to try to take advantage of the good
cndx, and to provide convenient operating times for other stations around the world.
Please make the effort to get on and provide us a contact ;-)
If you feel there is a question about whether or not I will be on the air when you
want to try, please send me an email and I will try to make special accommodations to
be QRV for you.
The EME contact procedures being used are clearly outlined on the above web page.
Please use the ON4KST EME chat page to coordinate your calling frequency with other
callers, so everyone is spread out with at least 200 Hz between stations:
http://www.on4kst.org/chat/login.php?band=5
Remember, because of Faraday rotation and other geomagnetic disturbances, I may copy
you better than the other "big guns", so so don't hesitate to call! I will call QRZ
if I see traces from callers but have no decodes. I will only call CQ if I see no
callers. If I identify multiple callers, I will give priority replying first to
those who have contributed to this DXpedition, then to callers who are hearing me at
that particular time (as indicated by their sending me calls and OOO reports), and
finally to callers who are only sending calls.
Just a reminder - Please call me calls with OOO reports (JT65A standard message #2)
if you see a good trace from me - even if you are not decoding me while I am working
somebody else. If you have WSJT set up for maximum sensitivity as shown on my web
page below, you should be able to decode me when I reply to you, as long as you have
been seeing a good trace from me on SpecJT:

I expect to be QRV practically all the time the moon is up during the contest weekend
on October 2 and 3, since there should be few work conflicts for most people, and it
should be most convenient then for them to be QRV. The Degradation also begins to be
quite low that weekend, and you are encouraged to look for me that first weekend in
October.
I do not expect to have any internet connection, but I hope to be able to find
someplace offering internet services so I can update my status and "stations worked
list" from time to time. Because of the limited windows, and anticipated numbers of
stations calling, I request that stations do not call for duplicate contacts.
It is anticipated that the antenna will be tied down toward NA when there is no EME
operation, and I will probably set up a beacon on 50.110 (in either CW or JT65A),
unless the band is open so I can QSY to some other clear frequency.
During last year's operation from E51SIX, I was able to complete with a single 5
element yagi on the horizon. The station this year in 3D2 is essentially the same.
Please notice that I have specifically included operating times for horizon-only
stations during their moonrise (Regions 1 and 3) and/or moonset (Regions 1 and 2).
Even if you can only stick up a 6m beam aimed at the horizon on a 15 or 20 foot pole,
you should be able to work EME if you have some clear terrain in front of the antenna
and some power. If you are new to EME, you may obtain some helpful information here:

Good luck to everyone and I hope to be able to provide a new DXCC to many 6m
stations who make the effort to get on! VY 73, Lance
