NOTE that if you are horizon-only on 6m from North America, you have a great
chance to work a rare one next week, since they will have some manual elevation,
and they will have moonset and moonrise windows during NA moonrise and moonset!
Below is the latest information from HB9Q about the operation.

  GL and VY 73, Lance

MOONBOOUNCE from MALDIVES ISLANDS (8Q7/MJ64je)

We are now in the final stage of preparations for our Maldives Islands 2010
DXpedition.

QTH:

Island of Velidhu, Ari Atoll (MJ64je)

Date:

We arrive on the island March 21st. Once there we will start to build the 4
stations. We expect to be QRV from March 23rd moon-rise to March 31st
moon-set. On April 4th we will be flying back to HB9.

Team:

HB9QQ Pierre, HB9CRQ Dan, HB9EHJ/DL3OCH Bodo and DL2NUD Hermann and Silvana
(XYL of Dan)

Call:

All operators will have a 8Q7 license and call. We expect to use 8Q7QQ on
all the bands.

Frequencies:

50.183 JT65A, 144.111 JT65B, 432.090 JT65B, 1296.090 JT65C

8Q7 always TX 1st!

We will check the frequencies when we are there and we will confirm on
www.mmmvhf.de

Equipment:

50: 7el yagi, 400W, preamp

144: 14el cross-yagi, 500W, preamp

432: 38el yagi, 120W

1296: 59el yagi, 90W

Operating schedule:

144: every day from moon-rise to moon-set

50: moon-rise (up to 20°) and moon-set (from 20°), days will be announced
when there

432/1296: we will announce the days when there, we expect to be QRV one day
432 and the next day 1296 and so on. We will limit our activity to 4-6 hours
per day, the times will be announced when there.

During the weekend of March 27/28 we will be running as many bands and hours
as we can. Schedule will be announced no later than March 26th.

CW:

We will QSY to CW if we hear a station calling us. Random only. Since we
will TX CW with WSJT and we do run at least one other band in parallel you
need to stay within the 1 minute period (you are second) at all times! We
may use another call on CW, be careful!

Internet:

There is public internet access in the lobby of the resort. We will be
publishing the list of stations worked on a daily base at www.mmmvhf.de and
we will use MMM DXBlog for communication (confirm frequencies, announce
activity times and any important news). Please do not send any e-mails to
the individual e-mail addresses of the team members!

QSL:

Direct to HB9Q, P.O.box 133, CH-5737 Menziken, Switzerland

Please include self-addressed-envelope and IRC or 2$.

Donations are welcome and will be used for the 2011 DXpedition (very nice
DXCC in Africa).

We are very much looking forward to work you all!
