This DX Window is for Australian and New Zealand hams working into North
America on CW and SSB. This is due to TV using 50 to 51 or 52 MHz.
Two band segments they use
New Zealand (ZL) 51 - 51.1 with the calling frequency being 52.05 MHz.
Australia (VK) 52 - 52.3 with the calling frequency being 52.100 MHz.
See their bandplans at
http://www.nzart.org.nz/maps/2010/bp1-2.pdf
and
http://www.wia.org.au/members/bandplans/data/documents/Australian%20Band%20Plans%20100404.pdf
Perhaps we ought to give a listen to this part of the band once in a
while too.
Since 6 metre band allocations are different worldwide, I wonder what
wonderful DX we might be missing as we are listening only to 50.125 or
50.110? What other calling frequencies might be in use in other parts of
the world?

-------- Original Message --------
I have noticed references to a CW Pacific DX window from 51 to 51.1 MHz.
For example see http://www.smirk.org/opaids.htm or
http://www.bandplans.com/index.php?band=6
Just wondering who uses this portion of the band? I suspect this was
done to accommodate one or more countries who do not have access to the
normal weak signal part of the band 50 to 50.8 MHz.
So who uses this part of the band, and what frequencies are designated
for calling, etc?
