I am forwarding this email from the new 6m EME email list at Google Groups. Please distribute this news widely. If you still need Kyrgyzstan on 6m, this is your chance - they did very well when they operated from there last year. And if you are in Region 2 and don't have elevation, you are in luck - their moonrise out over lake Issyk Kul is at the same time as your moonset! GL and VY 73, Lance

Dear 6m EMErs,

Subject to arrival of our power amplifier from M2 this week looks like
we will be going to Issyk Kul, Kyrgyzstan this Saturday, August 7.

Certainly we will make final announcement if we go or don’t but at
this point I just want to lay some basic rules and share some basic
info about the trip in this semi-final announcement:
While operating from the Issyk-Kul lake QTH we will use the following
procedures:
1)	Operation. We will be QRV from August 7 to August 14 the whole
week.

2)	Callsigns. We will EX6EME callsign. Operators: Mike (UN8GC / KZ1R)
and Oleg (EX8MLT). If we exhaust all correspondents, we may operate as
EX8MLT and EX/KZ1R callsigns.

3)	Grid. MN82re at all times.

4)	SKEDs. We will avoid SKEDs whenever possible. We will be calling CQ
in first sequence always in JT65A mode.

5)	Frequency. Preliminary plan is to use 50,200 kHz as our main
operating frequency. This is subject to local QRN/QRM conditions. If
the primary operating frequency will be changed, we will announce it
by all available means.

6)	Online communication. Most likely we will be available for online
Internet based chat from the DXpedition site. We will be active on MSN
asmchirkov at olmitec.com, ICQ as 29400140, Yahoo as mchirkov and on
Skype as mchirkov as well as on ON4KST site as EX7MW. In case if we
lose Internet connection, we can be reached by sending text messages
to our cellular phones. The exact cell phone numbers will be announced
later. Please note that even though we will be online most of the time
and people will be able to coordinate QSO arrangements and details
with us we will never violate established EME QSO protocol to ensure
completion of our QSOs. If we don’t get all the necessary bits of
information we will consider QSO incomplete. We are only interested in
fully completed contacts just as you are.

7)	Antenna elevation. We will use antenna elevation when the Moon is
20 degrees and above. However we will use no elevation to ensure
ground gain as much as possible. This should give us very good windows
for no-elevation stations (like those with single Yagi) in North
America.

8)	Start of operation. We will commence our operation on Saturday,
August 7 at 21:20UTC. Please don’t expect any ‘extra’ announcement on
us being QRV or not from the Issyk Kul QTH on Saturday. Just start
listening and calling us then.

9)	Calling us. If you hear us, please call us spreading out every 200
Hz so we can easily decode you without QRM. If you are seeing our
trace at a particular time, please call us with your callsign and OOO
signal reports. That way we will know that you are calling and will
quickly respond. Try to avoid using frequencies ± 200 Hz from our
calling frequency since they most likely will be occupied by some
other station calling us. Spread out - don't spare the spectrum! We
will always transmit in 1st sequence, no exceptions!!!!

10)	Completing QSOs. Please send us 73 when you receive our final RRR
so that we know we can begin answering the next station or return to
calling CQ.

11)	Station. We will employ their state-of-the-art PA from M2, ICOM
IC7200 and IC756proIII. Antenna – 6M8GJ with full elevation
capability. QTH is very low noise so we should be hearing just about
anyone even with single Yagi and 400-500 W output power if they have
ground gain. We will be shooting over the lake both on our Moonset and
Moonrise so we will have significant ground gain between 9 and 13
degrees of our elevation.

If you want to get a better feeling as to where we will be and what
our operation will be like, I suggest you pay a visit to our last year
website:

This year we strongly hope we will be able to complete especially with
stations from Europe, South Africa, Australia and Pacific Ocean
territories. Of course all the North and South American stations are
more than welcome to call us, too!

We have set up a Twitter and Facebook pages to inform you on the
latest status regarding our DXpedition.
