Don' be discouraged with only 10W. In 9 or so years I worked 420+ grids
fro DM68 (SW Colorado) -- probably 250+ of which were ConUS -- with 10W
from an IC-551 into a 3-el beam.
Best DX was western Australia (and that SOB doesn't QSL...) I also Had
DX to Japan, several S. Pacific Islands, Alaska (including Prudhoe Bay),
Greenland, Bermuda, lots of S. America, and plenty of the Caribbean.
Patience, persistence and diligence. And, with 10W don't try to muscle
your way around on 50.125. That'll only work during the first few
minutes of an opening -- then the Big Guns show up with their 1-channel
rigs. Pick "non-channel" freqs to call CQ on: .137.5, .142.5, etc.
