Still answer about 37 though :) TBand users wont leave UHF for 700MHz...I
can tell ya that here in Texas WONT happen...700 doesn't work in pine
needles (UHF works but only so so....700/800 is twice or more as bad!!)
Nope, T Band wont go away unless someone PUSHES the FCC and forces them
off....(Its like the phone company..you had a line, you moved, you ordered
new lines at the new location......BUT didn't tell them to turn off the old
line..guess what??? 10 years later, you're being BILLED for that old
line..STILL...Telco WILL NOT DISCONNECT IT...unless you tell them...and its
NOT their fault if you didn't but they SURE will take your money in the
meantime ;)

IF IDIOTS are using 50.8-51.0, then we need to file a petition to "protect"
it...Gentlemen agreements USED to work..but lot of idiots (and I use that
term a lot because we now have a lot in the amateur and other services)
IGNORE such....

Pity but true..

So who's up for a petition to the FCC to protect 50.80-50.98 for RC only
use?? SURELY we can spare 200 kHz...and you still need an amateur license to
use it...so its not like we are GIVING it away..(personally, I think FM
should be kept above 50.5MHz or even 51.0....to allow it in the SSB weak
signal area was a STUPID move on the FCC part (and precedent has been
set..look at 220 and 430...RPTRS are not allowed in the weaksignal (though
FM is..HUH??? Of course I know something funnier and dumber....friend of
mine filed a complaint with the FCC about an AM licensed to his town..they
have been off the air for 2 years yet LIED on every application, etc to the
FCC since. He sent in proof with the complaint...FINALLY got a letter back
from the FCC last week....they said they "Have no jurisdiction in this
matter" YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING!!! The owners LIED on every paper filed
to the commission...thus committed perjury which the FCC warns about and
says will prosecute..and can and SHOULD fine them for being off the air more
than a year without good cause or reason....yet they don't have
jurisdiction?? WHAT THE HELL DO THEY HAVE?????????? They ARE the FCC, who
giveths and taketh away licenses and fines those who violate said FCC rules
and regulations. ANYONE......ANYONE?????).

Chris,

Well, I did know about the T-band issue.DTV wants those frequencies because
they work well for their needs. Much of the T-band user community will go
up to 700 MHz as you referenced and not down.

As for protecting RC channels.I agree.

Thanks & 73,
