Friday, June 26 had some of the best 6m conditions I have ever seen on E skip. It started in the morning when I was copying V29JKV in Antigua, but no luck with a QSO. I was sitting at work Friday afternoon watching the EU spots from the east coast, and got home as quickly as I could after work.
After working a couple of 1 land stations on CW I suddenly heard Italy calling CQ on 6M! No luck with him but did then work GW3JXN in IO72 and G0TSM in IO90 for 2 new countries on 6m (Wales and England). I almost completed with IK5MEN but he couldn't get the suffix to my call. I also heard Spain and the Canary Islands on, but no luck with them.
That was the end of the EU stations but did continue to work 1 land stations for 3 hours more! 1 land is difficult from here because it lies between 1 long hop and 2 short Es hops, but I worked every 1 land state Friday except for RI-not sure where W1JJ was, never saw him spotted. This was the longest opening from Oklahoma to W1 land that I have ever seen.
Overall-2 new countries, 3 new grids (the third was FN46 in VE2) and lots of run. Running 100 watts from a Yaesu FT450 to a MFJ 3 element yagi at 30 feet.
