It is as much or more related to propagation and location than anything.
Operating skill and equipment can't make up for being in the right place at
the right time.

They just keep getting better and better. Didn't think I would be able to
top last year's 6m performance, but beat it by quite a bit. Can't comment
on the higher bands since I was limited to 6m (and FM on 2m and 70cm) but 6
was open for most of the contest, to lots of areas at once.
Hope everyone else had a great contest also.
The final tally for me was 277 QSOs and 117 Grids on 6m. Thought I was
going to break 300 Qs but the propagation dropped out the last couple of
hours. Managed to work 5 all time new grids-CN81, CO90, DN15, DN24, FM13.
Just to show you that a large station isn't required to have a blast on 6m,
I did this with a Yaesu FT450 at 100 watts to a MFJ 3 element yagi at 30
feet.
Can't wait to see what 2010 brings!
