[50mhz] [VHF] Logger

Howard,

I made a similar study several months ago. I ended up using W3KM VHFLOG and it worked great for me during the June contest. It does not have networking and I did not explore any of the rig control features.

I would have used roverlog but the W3KM program was a bit simpler and fit my purposes better. However, I played with roverlog extensively and the author was quite easy to work with.

-------------- from my summary on 2009-5-20

I got 15 replies to my question about vhf contest logging software.

The tally was:

(several folks listed more than one)

n1mm * * * * * *
wintest *
roverlog	* * *
writelog	* * *
w3km vhflog	* *
n3fjp * * *
vhf-dx * *

I looked at them all, downloading and testing. Roverlog seems the best choice followed by n3fjp. (NOTE: This was my original choice changed later to W3KM)

The n1mm looks great for hf tests but a little overwhelming for vhf contests.
