Might add it was XE3N on 50.127.....lots of QSB but for my 15watt mobile in
SE Texas, it was a pleasure...took 3 tries to get him! NOW time to improve
the rig and get an amp! (anyone know of a front end improvement for the
FT690RII??)
Also found out my FT 857D which has been deaf on 6 due to a blown front end
xstr is sick RF wise out...not doing 100watts...but only 40....checked all
the settings...10mtrs pegged the Bird meter!! Who is the best repair guy for
Yaesu rigs other than the factory or would the factory be ok (Looking for
performance AND cost!!)?? I would do it myself but I DON'T have the time (I
do have the test gear)....and want it done right!!...also found UHF is down
in power but VHF is still 50watts!
TIA
Chris
