[50mhz] [Wswss] 6m conversion of an Ameritron AL-572?

During the early 1970s I converted two Heathkit
SB-200 amplifiers (which use two 572Bs) to six
meters. Later I converted one of them again,
this time to use a single 3-400Z (not 3-500--it
wouldn't fit). It required a separate filament
transformer, among other major changes, but it
worked really well then. These days I use a
homebrew six meter amp with two 3-500Zs in my
rover vehicle, running on a 3,000-watt inverter
and heavy batteries--but an amp like that would never
fit in an SB-200 case.
