Ed,
After cleaning with alcohol and q-tip swabs to get most of the "gunk" from
accessible areas, I have used a product called "Febreeze" sprayed onto a
q-tip to get around components. Works well and after a couple of weeks,
another application will usually completely eliminate any residual odors. I
wouldn't spray Febreeze on directly. Applying it with the swabs and then
letting the rig dry thoroughly before "smoke-testing".
