[50mhz] antenna

Lloyd,

There's more to upgrading a yagi than forward gain! The main thing you get for
going to a better-designed antenna is a better azimuth pattern, which means a
higher front-to-rear ratio and fewer/smaller sidelobes. This translates into a
lower overall noise floor, which means you can HEAR better. And if you can
hear better, you're going to work more weak signals -- if they can hear you.
Thus, hearing better can even be a valid justification for increasing your
transmit power commensurately so that the weak ones CAN hear you.

Personally, I prefer to model and optimze my own yagis, but the 6M7jhv is
pretty darn optimized already. :-) I'd go with that one. (And then, given
knowledge of own my installation height, I'd model it and tweak with it. But
that's just me.)
