Hi John,
The contest was fun; my first MS contest, and I did fairly well
for having only 6 meters. Was kinda looking for you, didn't see
you. Now I know why.
As far as the Geminids go, I think the general sense I've heard is
that they were pretty much a bust. I knew when the radiant was in
a helpful location, but didn't notice an unusual number or
strength of burns. Still a lot of fun, howeever.
On the last day, we had a nice but not very strong Es opening into
the Midwest from here in New Mexico. It didn't last very long,
maybe half an hour. Only stations 1250+ miles away were heard, so
the Es MUF apparently didn't get much above 60 MHz, at least over
that path. Looks like there was a lot of Es on 10 meters for much
of the day Sunday, however. The Es MUF appeared to be above 28 MHz
but below 50 MHz for most of the day yesterday. Which is good when
you're trying to work a meteor-scatter contest on 6 meters. :-)
