[50mhz] 6 is opening

With regards to antenna restrictions, we've all been there at one time or
another :)  A simple inside antenna for 6 if you can get it in a window
would work (A 1/2w dipole, loop or 1/4wave gnd plane if you put enough gnd
plane under it)..A 2m Larsen, NMO150, will work on 6m if stuck to a metal
cabinet or chair...when the band is open, anything will work. I once lived
out on Lake Conroe in an apt and had a 220 mag mount on a steel chair and
used it during a band opening and worked a station on 6 CW. 6 is high enough
in VHF for inside antennas...even a rabbit ear style V dipole will work.

Yep, KPRC is staying on RF35 with their digital after Feb 17, 2009....6 will
become much more quiet when KPRC2 analog signs off...
Just added a FT690RII to my six gear..now I have TS680 Kenwood (since 1988),
a FT857D and the FT690RII....I am ready for 6..cmon sunspots! :)

BTW I THINK there is a net on 50.25 tonight at 8 or 9pm...Its listed on
www.texasvhf.org

The problem is, I am in an apartment & DO NOT have capacity to run 6m
inside..!

I do have a 2m/70cm rig, but limit that to evenings, as it wipes out 
analog tv reception f used during prime time or during sports 
events.. (Will love it when Digital TV is more common, as the station 
in Houston  www.click2houston.com  will be on Ch 35 digital if my 
sources are correct.
