With the upcoming 6m Es season coming, I wanted to pass along info on where we
stayed in J3 when we were there a number of years ago. This rental is owned by a
ham, who also lives nearby (but is not currently active on VHF):

Carriacou is the northernmost island in the country of Grenada, and it was
possible to obtain a license prior to arrival, through telephone, mail and FAX.

I see that since we were there, they have added WIFI access ;-) We were not there
during June, so we didn't experience any Es. Instead, we were there during
February, and did have TEP and F2 on 6m while using a small 3 element yagi, which
you can see in the photo:

This photo shows the view toward Europe:

The QTH is just below the top of the central mountains, at the top of a valley.
The view is blocked in directions other than to the east and northeast, by the
sides of the steep valley, but as you can see, the shot toward Europe is pretty
incredible!

The prevailing wind from the east funnels wind up through the canyon, keeping the
cabin cool and bug free (at least when we were there). So, if you were looking
for a Caribbean location to take advantage of that famous summer Es from the Carib
to EU on 6m, you might want to check this out! GL and DX! VY 73, Lance
