Brent VY2HF (ex-VE1JH) and Ken VE3HLS, will be expeditioning on Miscou Island, NB, from Friday 28 September to Friday 5 October 2007. Our primary purpose is MW Broadcast DX listening, but we'll be capable on VHF/UHF also to alleviate boredom.
Miscou (IOTA NA-068) is located on the boundary of FN77 and FN78. We will be staying in cabins in FN77, but may (if weather and time permit and the band opens up) take a shot up the road into FN78.
We'll be looking SW to the NE USA most of the time, but if Auroral cx are likely we'll look north.
Equip will be a modest setup, FT847 into an SM-50 Moxon.
We'll either be signing VY2HF/VE9 or VE3HLS/VE9, phone and CW, listening between 50.110 and 50.125 for signs of any openings, then will be 50.130 or higher (phone) or 50.100 or lower (CW) if things open up nicely.
