[50mhz] 6 Meter opening

While out grocery shopping, I did listen for SSB 50.124 - 
50.135,  between 9:30 & 10:00 PM CDT, but was unable to raise anyone 
from my mobile unit that was pushing 100 watts..

The traffic was buried in the noise level from a shopping center in 
Bellaire, Tx. about 2 miles from my apartment.

Imagine I could have raised someone with a better antenna on a fixed 
station, but (sigh) can not put any antennas up at my apartment..
