[50mhz] Bad contest conditions on 6m

KPRC is not any more powerful than any other TV2....it runs 100kw video and 25kw audio which is what most TV2s runs (Max ERP). Ive been in the Missouri City tower farm and on the original 2 tower; the shorty out there now at 1400ft as well as a couple of the 2000ft ones. My Midland SyntechII gets noisy on some 53 MHz channels but not too bad when I get close to a TV2 tower.

There is only one (is there a second???) open 6m rptr in Houston....it does not run Noise Blanker and the one I know of is at 200ft tops....hence the poor coverage (It uses a single ground plane with no gain)

I plan to be putting a new 6mtr rptr on in the Spring/Conroe area shortly. Split site with a voter eventually with multiple rx sites; it will be ~300ft on the tx side...but with a 6db gain antenna)
