Just thought I'd take a minute to let y'all know about some stations newly on 6M this season from formerly very difficult grid squares.
DN11, northern Nevada desert: KH6QAI/7, Kim, Winnemucca NV. Just emigrated from KH6-land and has a terrific 6M station and a big signal from lonely DN11. You should hear a lot of him this summer if you haven't already.
EM71, south Alabama/Georgia: W4TKI, Kenn, Coffee Springs AL. Kenn has been on 6M prior to this season, but is more available now. This grid square has been a tough one for many years with very little resident 6M activity. Kenn is usually active on Wednesdays. Look for him if you need this grid.
DN46, east of Helena, MT: WA7W, Morry, Helena MT. Morry is newly on 6M as of a couple days ago after a very lengthy career as an HF-only guy. Previously represented only by non-QSLer K7MT and the occasional mobile, DN46 should now be more available.
PLEASE, when sending a QSL to a station in a rare grid square, recognize that they get QSL requests from more than half the stations they work. Send an SASE!
Good luck to all in the upcoming contest.
73,
Bill / W5WVO
