Get a 6 el Cushcraft Boomer, they are fairly cheap on the used market. Dont
know if still in production.
Then stretch the boom 5" by sliding each section a bit, there is plenty of
overlap.
Add 2 more elements, adjust the others.
I can provide all the info, plots, etc for a large SASE.
Several were built about 10 years ago after extensively getting familiar
with YO.
Final result:
13.2 dBi from 50.0 to 50.4
37-42 dB f/r over the same range.
On the air performance is absolutely fantastic, especially for minimizing
QRN and QRM.
I also modified a pair of Hi Gain 66DX's by adding an element and changing
element dimensions, etc. Single antenna had 11.9 dBi and ~ 40dB f/r.
Ive also modified the Wilson 8el and both 11 el Telrex of old.
Redesigns of most Cushcraft 6M yagis were also done.
