I have lived in both Houston and Dallas and i got on HF from both cities. I 
went into the attic of my apartment and put up a dipole for 40 and 20 mts. 
worked very well. KD0JL is a well known dxer on 40 mts who uses a attic 
ant. where there is a will there is a way. I have loaded up gutters . N8UX 
use to drop a #14 wire out of his 2nd story window when he wanted to get on 
HF. not the best but you can work HF .
