LOTW works the same way as sending your cards into the ARRL Bureau for 
getting WAS and DXCC. The difference is that you don't have to send your 
cards and you save money on the round trip postage. And you can see on the 
ARRL website at a glance which countries you have confirmed. Otherwise it 
works the same way. Cost for the award is the same. ARRL has entered the 
21st century, just some hams have not entered yet. And, it is more secure 
than EQSL. EQSL does not match your uploads against the uploads of ppl you 
have worked. ARRL matches the uploads so there is no cheating.
