I had a 9406, sold it along with a TS120 & TR-751 to buy my FT-100.

The 2720 is a good radio but I honestly think the FT-8800 or even the
FT-8900 is a much better rig for the money. We have four 2720's in
our EOC http://harriscountyares.org/transtar.htm and the intermod is
so horrible we had to get the county cough up some significant $$$ for
filters to keep their radios out of the front ends of the 2720's. My
FT-8900 http://ka5cvh.com/photos/albums/userpics/10001/Dsc01957.jpg
like all modern V/UHF ham gear suffers from a broad front end but I
don't think its quite as bad as the 2720 just from comparisons with
friends who have a 2720.
