you are correct I DO NOT LIVE IN EM77 I live in KY.i have been active on
six since 1962 and was off for about 5 yrs as i was traveling around. i got
back on about 10 yrs ago and was amazed and disappointed by the new class
of hams on six and two meters ssb. I have a handle NOT A PERSONNEL and i my
qth is not a grid sq. I tried to have a few nice qso's also but no such
luck. even had a guy in Tenn get on me for having a qso on 50.120 . i was
in his dx window. use to be 50.110 guess it is wider now he had a vanity
callsign from the 5th or 7 th call area. guess he did not like his KG4 call
and to top it off during my qso he was making remarks over the other
station telling me how stupid i was an a few other remarks. i guess his
knowledge VHF allowed him to cause interference to a qso without being a
problem. he had some stupid personnel i can not recall anyway either. when
the bands are open i have had a few nice qso's that lasted more then (5/9
em77 3's to ya.) . now i just go above 50.130 to have a long qso or if i
run into someone who whats to chat ill suggest we move up. i have just
gotten to the point where i will not give my grid sq i give my state, that
was the other op will have to at least make another transmission and ask
for my grid. guess i am just an old fart 45+ years extra who recalls how
qso's use to me also. man i miss the days of AM and the qso's that took
place. guess ill fire up the old globe champ and 74a2 or the sx101a and
ht32a and see who is on HF AM.
