didn't tell us a thing about the boat. What's the maximum possible
height to mount an antenna? Next there ain't no way on God's green
earth or water blue in this case you are going to get 7.2DBi out of a
5/8 wave whip on 144. Half that would be more like it. What are you
using for a counterpoise and / or mounting system? Also FM may or
may not cut it, SSB or even AM would be more likely to pull it off.
Remember on V/UHF frequencies its all about elevation and you are
going to have to get whatever antenna up in the air
