Hopefully, this dbi vs dbd thread won't go on much longer. dbi is a
NON-EXISTENT reference point. Kinda' like me saying that my car has 50 more
horsepower. 50 more horsepower versus WHAT? I remember seeing a CB antenna
ad a few years ago for an Antron-99 (vertical/omni) that boasted a 9.9 dbi
gain, and people were buying them big time. I emailed Antron, and asked them
to explain their 9.9 dbi gain claim, since this is the typical gain that
you'd get from a 3-element 10-meter beam. I never did get any response from
Antron, but I did notice they have since dropped their 'gain claim' down to
3.3dbi.
