[50mhz] antenna 2m/6m vertical

Thanks to all who responded, for all the information. I think if I decide
that I like 6 meters, I might build a rotatable dipole, or a regular dipole,
and put it in the attic. (My wife won't let me put any more antennas outside
on the house.)
I haven't heard anything much on the band yet, but I'm sure I will when the
band opens up, whenever that may be.

Yup, you should be horizontally polarized for SSB -- although some local
groups have nets on vertical. But the DX is horizontal.

Personally, I use a rotatable dipole that I built for about $10. It's a 3
foot 2x4
with some aluminum tubing (adjustable on each side) fed in the center with
some RG213 -- works fine, is not noticeable, and I can hear logs and lots
of beacons!

Good luck. I'm not really a six meter man -- especially at this point in
the sunspot cycle
