Monday night I heard a strange effect on a 6m beacon some
81 miles away. It sounded like a bad antenna connection
or AGC pumping. I tried everything from bypassing SWR
meters and coax switches, turning off my AGC, using
differant antennas, no help.
I asked a nearby station if he heard the QSB - he didn't.
Yesterday, without changing anything, the QSB was gone.
If you have a mp3 player (who doesn't?) and want to d/l
a 939 kb file, you can hear a recording of the "mystery"
QSB effect I was hearing monday night. It's at:

I posted this to another list and the suggestion was that
lightning was doing it. I've never heard of lightning "helping"
a signal before. There was a thunderstorm between my
station and the beacon that night.
Anyone care to listen to the recording and help me under-
stand what was going on?
Thanks for everybody's help!
