Bill,
I'm in the process of starting a web based forum (BBS) specifically for
vhf and above.
I'll have a propogation area as well as lots of other topic areas.
I have plans for a map based propogation view and other stuff in the
future, but that will take me a while to program and get working.
The site is http://www.vhfuhf.com and should be active in the next hour
or so. (I'm actually uploading the software and webpages right now as I
type this)

Subject: [50mhz] VHF propagation board/reflector?
I'm wondering if anyone knows of a VHF propagation discussion board or
mail
reflector that is reasonably active and well-known. I've come across a
couple small boards on various websites, but they are mostly moribund
and of
little practical use. I'm interested in sharing my experiences, and
getting
others' viewpoints and experiences, with sporadic-E and scatter modes on
the
50/144 MHz bands. Looking for a reasonably technical bunch that will
challenge me to study, research, and learn.
Also, any really good books, papers, or websites on this subject would
be of
extreme interest to me. The ARRL Antenna Book, over 800 pages long,
addresses exactly seven paragraphs specifically to sporadic-E
propagation --
six, if you don't count the paragraph they waste complaining about
people
who refer to sporadic-E as "E-s" or "Ease" instead of as "E-sub-s".
<sigh>
