[50mhz] 6 Meter Repeater

Hello 6M fans,

Actually, a QRP 6m 455KHz split rpt will work.
I live in CA and the 6M split here is 500KHz. I have a repeater
I made from two Motorola Maxtrac mobile radios, a CAT 200
controller and 6 (six) DB Products VHF low-band cavities going
into a single antenna. The cavities have been modified for
Band-Pass/Band-Reject operation. They provide enough
isolation so that I can easily run 50 watts out with no de-sense.
The difference between 455 and 500KHz should be no problem,
especially at QRP levels. You could even use a notch only duplexer
and make it from scrap Heliax. There are several projects for Low-Band
duplexers of this type on the web
The 25 mile range will depend on the local terrain. Six is much better
over hills and rough terrain than 144 and 440 but, of course, still has
limitations.

There is plenty of rpt building info on the web!
Here is one to start you off:

Good luck!
