Hello DXers!

As any of you who have tried it already know, JT44 is an extremely powerful tool
for making weak contacts. However, it certainly does not automatically make
contacts for you! In fact, to realize the last few dB of sensitvity requires
very active operator involvement during every sequence.

In order to help new users learn more quickly, I have developed a "JT44
CHECKLIST", which is now posted on my website:

http://www.bigskyspaces.com/w7gj/JT44checklist.htm

I developed this as a reminder for new JT44 users, on how to set up and operate
JT44 to get the most out of it (especially on 6m EME). To make it as helpful as
possible, I included some screen shots illustrating how to set the controls. I
also showed how some of the features such as FREEZE can be used to dig even
deeper into the noise.

Special thanks to W1JJ and K7BV for providing their 6m EME signals for me to use
in the screen shots. A third of my total 6m DXCC countries have now been
obtained by making JT44 contacts on 6m EME, and I am looking forward to adding
some more new countries soon, especially since the geomagnetic field is finally
beginning to become quiet again ;-)

GL and VY 73, Lance
