The "low priced spread" is as I posted ... $41.98 (today, at least) for a
512 delivered to your door .. NOT near 55 ...
Go to page 3 of the memory listings for 512s ... $47, name brand with
lifetime warranty, delivered! The best single thing hams can do to their
computers is grace them with memory .. up to a certain point .. as you
stated, the dinosaurs can actually be slowed down by adding more memory than
they were given the smarts to handle! Also, be sure your motherboard can
handle the large memory modules ... some old ones can't! If you are
multi-tasking with your computer ... packet, logging, running grey-line
chart, email, QRZ on line, etc...at the same time .. memory really helps.
All that being said, Lee's price is fair for premium memory, especially if
the warranty is transferable ... It's mox-nix to me, just "communicating"!
