Hi Fellow Sixers:
I am using a Yaesu FT100D Mobile with a Larsen NMO50 antenna mounted to
the fender side cowl of my little Subaru Legacy Wagon. It is hard to
find a place to mount an antenna when the whole dern car is made of
plastic, but it works nevertheless. I get a lot of line noise driving
around in the city where I live and am wondering if anyone has tried
the Am-Com ClearSpeech Speaker?? Before I plunk down the $170.00 for
one, I would love to hear some opinions out there? The FT100D has a good
noise blanker and DSP, so would this little gadget make it any better?
Also, want to share some info. I tried substituting for my NMO50 antenna
by using the Hustler HF mobile antenna on six and according to the
folks from Hustler, the mast will resonate on about 51 mHz. I tried it
and it works better than the Larsen NMO50, thus eliminating one antenna
on the mobile. The SWR at 50.125 is about 1.3:1, which is better than
I ever dreamed. On trips I use the M2 HO Loop.
73's and thanks for listening to my ramblings.
(Wish the band would open here in DM65 but nothing so far)
