[50mhz] Opening this evening (Jan. 5th)

I was alerted to a southern opening by a friend around 0240z
and quickly worked 2 Florida stations (NJ2F in EL96 on SSB
and W2VDI/4 in EL86 on CW).  Heard an aurora sounding CW 
station in FM18 on .090 mention Annapolis, Dave, and "on the
bay"  but could never pull out a callsign.  Hmmm...I wondering
if it could have been N3DB who gave me a Delaware contact
during a portable operation back on November 30th? 

Later, the band shifted to the northwest and I started hearing
the K0KP beacon in MN.  Worked Justin KB9UZV in Chippewa
Falls WI (EN44).

Heard a weak signal in the DX window on 50.020    DX????

Signals were up and down but the activity sounded good none
the less.  :-)   The simple setup here is a IC-706MKIIG to a M2
loop at 30 feet.
