Hi Joe,

Hi Joe,

I turn on the sequencer using either with the RTS line from my computer serial port,
a foot switch or a manual toggle switch build onto the front panel of the box
housing the sequencer. I do not use VOX on SSB or Break-in on CW. That way, the
ONLY way my IC746 can be turned on is through the sequencer, which enables the IC746
PTT line when it is safe to begin transmitting.

The RigBlaster is FB for interfacing the audio, but you still need to bring your
serial port RTS line out and have it turn on your sequencer. You also may be
interested in looking at some of the computer options available for sending CW. I
still usually use my footswitch and then start sending manually with a key.
However, I have the option of typing CW from my keyboard, and if I do that the
computer automatically turns on the sequencer first, and then begins sending the
CW. This function is one of the many optional features included in my logging/rig
control program, TRX-Manager. For the first time, it is possible to send CQ on CW
in whatever programmable sequences you wish (even accurately timed sequences, so as
EME), and have the sequencer automatically turn on before the CW transmissions
automatically begin. Of course, at any time, I can interrupt these messages with my
footswitch and resume manual CW or SSB sending.

It sure is nice to worry about making the contact, rather than worrying about
blowing up a preamp, and/or your amplifier! GL and 73, Lance
