It WAS a great opening last night, but lately, any opening is a great
opening!! Worked a lot of grids and stations, but still
no West Virginia which is the last one I need for WAS. Oh well, it gives
me something to look forward to.
RE; Jerry W9FS post about amplifiers. BRAVO Jerry, I agree. I have been
on the air since 1947 and have never owned an
amplifier. I have worked/confirmed 350 countries/HF and am on the DXCC
Honor Roll, all with less than 100 watts, using
CW and SSB and a lot of persistence/patience. I admit it took me 37
years to make the Honor Roll but what a challenge
and what fun!!! On six meters it is the same thing. LIttle station,
little antenna and good old persistence. I cheat, I use CW
a lot. Ain't it wonderful? Thanks to all the great operators that worked
me on CW last night.
