i have used this beacon list for a long time. you will notice it is from
1998. really needs to be updated. i do not think a lot of these are on the
air anymore. if so i have never heard them. I scan the band every morning
and evening when i am home. boy wish i was in EU for the past few days now
those boys are enjoying some great F layer hops.
we do need some info on lower freq's other then TV carriers. my area of KY
is eat up with cable leakage so most of those freq's are worthless. at one
time you could use police freq's but they have all been conned into moving
to 800 and 900 MHz hi hi for greater coverage (boy did they take a shafting
from the radio companies). some of the highway depts and toll roads still
use low band VHF in KY. When i was an Eng with the Toll Division back in
the 70's many a morning i would be heading to work from Somerset and talk
mobile to mobile with the road crews in Coral Gables Fla .
