6mtr rptr offset depends on your place of residence....seems NOONE
can agree on an offset (though the ARRL tried with the -1MHz offset
in 1980....then the FCC opened up 51-52 MHz in 1990 and the band
went to youknowwhat then!:) The common offsets are:
-1MHz (the most used right now), -1.7MHz (mostly NW US and Western
Canada...a lot of places outside this area is also moving to -1.7)
and -500kHz in CA and Michigan (though Michigan has been rethinking
that...and one or two other places MAY be using 500)...

If we ALL could agree on ONE offset that would make the band a
truly national band...oh well..probably wont happen in our
life time...if ever...

As for 6 SSB, it is USB (above 10Mhz is USB, below 10MHZ is LSB)..
though you CAN legally use LSB.....just may not talk to anyone there :)
50.110 is the DX calling freq, 50.125 is the stateside calling freq..
though some ad tried to get that changed to 50.2 MHz..
Also you may want to listen for beacons in the autocontrolled beacon
subband of 50.06 to 50.08 (US only) and there are others outside that
range in other areas..

6mtr AM calling freq is 50.400 MHz....

(BTW please remember RC models use 50.08-51Mhz in a lot of area...
do NOT xmit there as you could cause a 60+mph flying model to crash!!!)
