If you want real time (within 5 min) information (necessary if you want to
work DX) the DX clusters are the only way to go. If you want history then the
reflector will work, it will tell you of the opening you have missed more
often than not. The e-mail can be held up by your ISP up to 8 hours waiting
for a packet big enough to send out. Then the routing may present more delays
if networks are down. So the e-mail may even get lost for a day.
I have seen a couple of band openings that were close by and where I was just
on the edge and made a contact or two only in 5 min of opening in my area.
Could not have done this by checking e-mail.
