 Gentlemen,

Just a reminder about messages that are rejected by this list.
This is not a change from our previous policy, but the rejection notices
that you receive are different, and seem to be causing some confusion.

 Messages That Are Rejected:

1). HTML, RTF or other encoded, stylized formats.

You must adjust the settings on your email client to send messages
 in plain text only!

If you are unsure of how to do this, the following web site is an
 excellent resource:

        http://www.nethawk.com/1113/swap/nohtml.htm

2). Attachments of any kind. Period.

 3). Non-member addresses.

The address from which you send messages must be exactly the same
address under which you are subscribed. This means that if you had a
receive-only alias added to the list, your messages will probably not go
through, as your actual post will be coming from another address. If you
subscribe from a home address and send from a work address, the same thing
will happen. If you change addresses and your old address forwards mail to
your new address, but you send from your new address -- same thing.

You may subscribe to more than one address and then set one of them
to "nomail," if you need to have a second address.

4). Too many addresses in the CC: or BCC: lines.

         This is an anti-spam feature.

 5). Large messages, over 30K

This is also an anti-spam measure and protects the list from
unnecessarily large posts, such as someone resending an entire digest or
forwarding other material. If you really need to send something over that
limit, please contact me, and I can get it through -- IF it seems
 legitimate for the whole list.

 6). Administrative Requests:

Requests to be unsubscribed or have an address changed, etc. will
generally be rejected by the system. Some may slip through, but we do our
best to get these filtered out. No one enjoys receiving someone else's
request for administrative help. DO NOT send these to the list
address! HINT: There is a clickable link in the header of each message
that will take you to the unsubscription page. Just click!

We expect everyone to be responsible for managing his own
subscription. Mailman actually makes this quite easy. Take the time to
read and SAVE the welcome message and information document. If you need a
refresher, please send a message to the following address and use the
information to take care of yourself:

       [email protected]
       [email protected]
       [email protected]
       [email protected]
       [email protected]

 7). Test Messages

Although Mailman is not set to reject these automatically, I reserve
the right to unsubscribe anyone who does this. Why should you annoy
everyone on the list with a useless test message? It is as rude as tuning
up on someone's operating frequency. If you have something to say, just
send the message to the list; you'll get all the information you need from
doing that as you would from sending, broadcasting, "Test, test, test!"

 8). Flames

Again, Mailman cannot filter these out, but as moderator, I will
deal with these. Anyone who engages in inappropriate personal comments,
or who is otherwise abusive or inappropriate on the list may be removed,
and may be banned, at my sole discretion. My general philosophy is to have
a free and open discussion; debate and vigorous give-and-take is to be
expected -- but, it must always be on an objective level as a mature
discussion and never descend to the level of personal attack. I am
reluctant to take drastic action, but will do so to preserve the integrity
 of this list.

If you feel someone has been inappropriate in messages sent to the list,
please send your complaint to me directly and NOT to the list, or even to
the perceived offender. I appreciate alerts from other members as I am not
always able to read each message in a timely manner.
