I have found Cushcraft's antennas to be excellent, in terms of
construction, in terms of how easily they go together, and in terms of
performance. I am currently using a smallish (so as not to offend the
neighbors) triband beam of theirs: 3 el. on 6m horizontal, 5 el. each
on 2m/70cm vertical, and I amd oing very well with it indeed. Obvioulsy
more elements means more gain but also more directivity.
I respect your opinion on Cushcraft, but I haven't necessarily found
anybody else's beams to be better, at least on the small end. I haven't
been able to use the really big ones the way I'd like to.
I really liked the Maldol 6m beam I had some years back, but they are
either not making or not importing beams any more. Oh well...
