[50mhz] Emails and re-reflectoring...

Greetings. I've had several instances this past weekend about folks trying to post a message to one of the above-mentioned
reflectors, and they are sending messages from their home Email addresses, while they subscribed to the various reflectors
with an alias, such as [email protected] .
Guys, it's not that simple.
Mailman wants an EXACT Email match on messages sent in to the reflectors. If it's not an exact match, it's held up for me
to evaluate and deal with the message. If you do manage to sub with a re-director, such as arrl.net, you will still see the
messages on the reflector, but when you send from your home address, without my knowing it, then there it sits.
There's also been a rash of new viruses coming around. Fortunately, Mailman is very good at catching these, but, again,
they're held for me to look at. No, I don't want them. :-)
There IS A WAY around this, but it requires your cooperation. I can set the addresses up so that messages from the various
reflectors can go to your alias, and if you send a message in from your real address, I can set it so that you don't get a
duplicate copy of that message back at you. BUT, it's work for me, and I do have a life, thankyouverymuch.
I can try this on an individual basis, but the *preferred* method is one Email address, period. Because, if there's a
problem, either Mailman will automatically unsubscribe you, OR I get a bunch of bounce messages and I have NO idea who
belongs to what. SO, the individual basis means that I write the 2 Email addresses on paper here at home, and if there's a
problem I can check my short list.
If you have a problem with that, contact me *OFF THE REFLECTORS* and we'll try to work it out. I want each and every one of
you here to be WELCOME here, but I don't want to be tweaking the lists every half hour either.
Thank you.
