[50mhz] Question about JT44

Hi,
     My name is Michael AF3l from Pennsylvania, USA. I am new to the list and 
have been seeing many emails about JT44. Can someone explain to me what JT44 
is? I don't have much experience on 6 meters and just started using 6M about
