Hello Hal,
I don't know of any source for 8874 tubes, but I will forward your email
for suggestions. Hopefully, if anybody knows of any, they will contact
you directly. It sure would be great if you could fire up the old 6N2
to take with you on 2m and 6m DXpeditions to the those new countries! I
have no personal experience with that amp, but I wonder if there are
maybe some other tubes (that were perhaps more arffordable and
available) that you might be able to substitute into it? If you can't
find any 8874 tubes, you might look into trying to find some reasonably
priced Russian triodes and sockets. GL and we hope you can get setup
for EME DXpeditions on both 2m and 6m soon!
