[4DIJ-L] Greetings all

My first post to the 4DIJ-List. I think it's  a good idea for those  
of us interested specifically in development of the concept of a  
country-wide, maybe even continent wide, all QRP club/org weekend. I  
like the idea as a variation on the individual efforts such as FOBB,  
FYBO, etc, with emphasis on groups with a family-friendly aspect.  
Speaking from our experiences at Lobstercon, it has grown to the  
point where we have XYL's and harmonics enthusiastically  
participating in all aspects and really looking forward to the next  
one. Whoodathunk!

* One aspect we MUST crank into the equation is smart calendaring. In  
order to maximize the operating pleasure, we've got to ensure we  
choose a date when the bands won't be stomped to death by contests.
* Of course the other option is an all WARC approach, which I tend to  
favor. (it's NOT a contest, after all, eh?) That solves a LOT of  
problems and allows the usual laid back approach to working all the  
orgs with minimum 'competition'. I can just imagine the eyebrows  
raised by hams all over the world hearing a whole bunch of 1X1 calls  
on the WARC bands on the same weekend  : )
