Anyone played with the PCTel VHF/UHF wideband antenna?:

Tram/Browning has a similar model, with a coil in the whip, claiming 
some gain:

Tram/Browning often copies other manufacturers, so I'm thinking the whip 
could be swapped to the much higher quality PCTel model for some extra 
gain.
